Jordan, Romania discuss economic relations.

Amman, (Petra)--President of the Jordanian Businessmen Association Hamdi Tabaa on Thursday discussed with Romanian Ambassador to Jordan Philip Bogdan means of forging closer economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Tabaa said Jordan attached special interest to economic and trade ties with Romanian, mainly in the fields of energy, infrastructure, transport, industry, trade and agriculture.

He said that trade exchange between the two countries grew last year, adding the Kingdom's exports to Romania stood at JD13 million while imports amounted to JD110 million.

Tabaa urged the private sector from both countries to set up joint investment and development projects in vital areas such as water, energy and transport.

The ambassador highlighted the strong ties between Jordan and Romania, pointing to opportunities available to boost these relations.

He also extended an invitation to Jordanian businessmen to visit Romania next June to discuss with their Romanian counterparts prospects for cooperation in the economic field.
