Amman, (Petra)--Jordanian
and Tunisian trade sectors agreed to expand bilateral
economic cooperation through economic opportunities
available in both countries.
At a meeting at the Amman Chamber of
Commerce that was attended by a Tunisian economic
delegation, the two sides agreed to hold bilateral
meetings for companies from both countries to further
boost trade exchange.
They voiced hope that the meeting would
provide an opportunity to look into prospects for
investment and discuss means of establishing trade,
industrial and services partnerships that would reflect
positively on both countries.
Despite the strong ties between Jordan
and Tunisian, trade exchange fall short of the aspiration
of the two countries as the Kingdom's exports to the
North African Arab country did not exceed JD13 million
during the first 11 months of 2011 while imports stood
at JD6 million.
The delegation, which represented by
the Sousse Chamber of Industry and Trade signed a
cooperation agreement with the Amman Chamber of Commerce
with the aim of exchanging visits, information, activate
trade exchange, and organize specialized exhibitions.
