FM meets Ashton ,UN envoy.

Amman, (Petra)--Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Thursday discussed with the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs Catherine Ashton, the latest developments related to the peace process as well as Jordanian-EU ties.

The meeting, which was attended by UN Middle East peace envoy Robert Serry, also touched on the outcome of the meetings that were held in Amman between Palestinians and Israelis to end the current stalemate in the peace rpcoess.

The meeting also stressed the need to continue consultation and coordination with all concerned parties, the International Quartet as well as the Arab Peace Initiative Committee to assess the

 

outcome of the meetings in order to push forwards negotiations between the two sides.

Judeh stressed the importance Jordan attaches to the role of the International Quartet and its positions as well as Jordan's keenness to coordinate with the Quartet and exchange ideas to create an appropriate climate for the resumption of peace negotiations.

He also voiced appreciation of the European support to Jordan, especially that Jordan enjoys an advanced status with the EU.

Ashton and Serry voiced their appreciation of Jordan's efforts to bring about peace and stability in the Middle East.
