Amman, (Petra) -- The
Arab Nurses Union and Jordan Nurses Association announced
on Sunday the activities to declare Amman as Arab
Capital of Nursing for 2010.
Chairman of Jordan Nurses
Association Khalid Abu Azezah held a joint press conference
with Secretary General of the Arab Nurses Union Mohammed
Hatamleh to announce details of the event, which aims
to highlight Amman as the starting point for an Arab
project to enhance nursing and uplift conditions of
nurses across the Arab world.
Abu Azezah said Amman
played a pivotal role in the nursing sector at the
Arab level, calling on national institutions to support
the activities that would be held throughout 2010.
Activities including
a ceremony on this occasion, nursing magazine and
a scientific research award would be launched, he
said, adding a specialized website to help recruit
nurses would also be inaugurated as part of the celebrations.
