Red Crescent(JRC) Monday joined The International
movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent in celebrating
its 150th anniversary .
During the celebration held at al-Hussein
Gardens, JRC carried out Paper Kites festival with
its slogans for this year "Our world ... your
move" to remind everyone of his or her individual
responsibility to lessen human suffering.
President of the Permanent Committee
of the Red Cross and Red Crescent and President of
the Jordanian Red Crescent Muhammad Mutlaq Al-Hadid
thanked French and Danish RC representatives, volunteers
of the International Federation of Red Cross ( IFRC)
and all humanitarian actors working in this field.
The ceremony included a Photo exhibition
representing the cultural aspects of RC humanitarian
and relief work.
JRC organized several events to commemorate
the occasion which included a workshop on voluntary
community- health care, a youth- week with the participation
of volunteers from all Jordanian governorates and
a number of Danish Red Cross volunteers.
